Welcome to Winter Slam
The first addition to the Summer Slam Lineup will be a Winter
Instructional Camp. This Camp will run 4 consecutive Friday Evenings:
January 9th, 16th, 23rd and January 30th, 2009 from 7 - 9:30pm. It will be held at
The B.A.T.T. Academy,
and is open to all players from ages 10 to 18. This winter camp will
be run by Bob Mumma, assistant baseball coach at UMBC, and will be an extension of the Summer Slam Baseball Camp. My goal for this camp is to give outstanding skill instruction in teh areas of hitting, infield, catching, pitching, and base running. This is a perfect camp for players to start getting ready for their upcoming season. They will be able to refine all areas of their game, and start getting into "baseball shape". This will in turn help them be ready for the start of their season, or for freshman be ready for baseball tryouts.
The B.A.T.T. Academy is a great location to run a witner camp. They have 4 batting cages, a short toss cage, indorr Dirt mounds for pitchers, and a side area that is large enough to work on defensive and base running drills.
Instructors: As will the Summer Slam Camp, all instructors will be either former professional players, top collegiate coaches, and current UMBC players. This camp will be limited to the first 40 campers that register.
